Evaluation.
How does your product represent particular social groups?
The themes and the colours help represent my social group,which is teens to young adults . The whites, yellows and blacks go with the social groups and also the bold fonts. The photography, genre and artist in my product help attract different social groups but specifically my social group (teens) with interest in R'n'B and mainstream music tastes. My media product also represents certain social groups because the wording of titles and the wording in articles link in with the genre of music i have chosen. The mise en scene, for example the clothing, also helps represent particular social groups. The mise en scene is important when representing social groups and i feel like my artist used in the pictures, is correcting dressed to link in with the genre.

Who would be the audience for your media product?
How did you attract/address your audience?
i attracted my audience by using the correct mise en scene, house styling and design to link in with my chosen genre. for example, my titles and subtitles are brightly colored and bold to appeal to my audience. If the colours or even fonts arent right, it can attract the wrong audience. I also used the correct clothing and style of my artist in my magazine, he is dressed and styled in a way which corresponds with my genre. The wording of titles and name of the magazine would also help attract my audience, for example "Pulse", the name of my magazine.

On the cover, i have chosen specific colours and fonts to link in with the photo as well as my target audience. The different fonts and range or colours, give the cover a bright feel and welcoming, rather than over RMA that i studied, which were for the rock genre and they were all black and red fonts.
In the double page spread the fonts, colours, subtitles, pull quotes photography and article wording all help attract my audience.
What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
i have learnt to use the right technologies to get the best standard of work. Through out construction and planning i have been constantly been learning and using new technologies. This is my preliminary task in comparison to my final construction;
and this is my final construction of my double page spread;
You can clearly see that i have progressed from my prelim because i have learnt about the different technologies and how to use them correctly and how to use them fully. The layout and font style help the reader feel more intrigued and attracted to the magazine. The whole layout and design and article basing all contribute to bring the DPS together and i learnt from my preliminary task that everything must link in together to bring it all in and get the best out of the design.
I also used different technology to produce audience feedback. For example, i used to instagram for audience feedback. by uploading my pictures onto instagram i can receive likes or thumbs down, depending on what people like or think, Then i could improve on shots or other things after receiving the positive or negative feedback.
Looking back at your preliminary task (the continuity editing task), what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to full product?
From working on my preliminary task to my final construction of my media product, i have learnt how to use the correct technologies to get the best standard of work as i can. My preliminary task, has a very basic and beginner look because i didn't know the full use of serif page plus. Also the photography is very basic, there is no specific angles and no planning on the location. As i progressed from my prelim to my final construction, my photos and planning improved, i learnt how to use lighting to improve a photo and make it look better, also i used angles and certain camera shots in different pictures. My research taught me that the correct fonts, colours and design can have a large influence on who my magazine will attract, certain social groups. I have learnt that getting audience feedback, helps in the progress of my work. By getting feedback, i can improve on areas that need work on. i have also learnt how to layout the front cover, contents page and double page spread in the correct way to be reader friendly for the person reading the articles or titles.
What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
when being sold my product would be placed on a commercial market, for mainstream users, not on independent markets used for indie magazines and products. Media institutions that might distribute my media product could be mainstream shops and stores, such as WH smiths, ect. Also online stores might distribute my product, like amazon, sites like amazon sell mainstream and indie RMA at reasonable prices, therefore i think that they could distribute it at a good price and this would benefit the costumer, especially if its online it will be more accessible and easy to buy.

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products? (i.e. of film openings)
My media product challenges, develops conventions of real media products because i have used mainstream conventions such as the mise en scene for example. My design layout and genre control also challenge forms of real media products, other RMA's i have analysed have a basic bold region layout out through out the whole product. However, i challenged this by using different methods of design on my Cover, contents page and DPS. The different colours and fonts through my product help develop the conventions but also refer back to my genre so it still flows with and links into my target audience.
