added an extra artist to the contents page so there isnt just one and i changed the lay out because the original draft i made looked basic and i wanted to make it look more appealling.

Final draft for new cover mock up. column at the bottom of the page to give more info. The cover page wont have too much information on the cover just enough for the audience to feel attracted to buying it.

New/Changed cover mock up

I changed my first mock-up of the cover to change the name of the magazine to correspond with the new genre of the magazine (R'n'B/Pop). Also the text in the middle has been moved to fit in and look better and has been moved towards the left but it is still in the middle. By moving the text to the left it is more visable because it is not merged with the darker colours of the pictures on the right side of the cover. The barcode has been made smaller and the styling of the title/name of the magazine from RAVE to PULSE.

Analysis/thoughts on the mock up of my front cover.

During my mock up design for my cover, i changed the colours and style to see if it would fit in with the Genre, i changed to black and white with red fonts but decided to convert back to the original style because it went well with the originality of the artist. I used the white title with a black outline to help the name of the magazine stand out but still look good with the articles. I do  like the mock up but i think i will have a go at experimenting with different layouts and colours because i want to make the cover more original and look more appealing to the audience.

New Genre idea

After anaylsisng the genre and artist, ive decided to change the genre from Dubstep/electronic to R'n'B, due to the look of the artist and styling. Also the mise en scene goes well with the R'n'B style genre. The main reason for my change in idea was the look and styling of the artist, the test shots work more with a different genre and support the look of a singer (R'n'B) rather than a DJ. By changing the genre i will be able to tie more ideas in and make everything come together rather than before when i wasnt sure on the mise en scene and how that would tie into a DJs look and style.

 For the fonts and front cover i want bold vibrant colours and the shots used will be edited in association with the cover and fonts, i.e if the font is style is black then the mise en scene will be relatively black and go with the cover and font. Also the music genre is very spread so i can use multiple colours depending on the style of the article. i will most likely use black, white, baby blue, cream colours but the title will remain black to stand out. White backgrounds on the images may be used so the artist will stand out more and this will support the article because i will be talking about how the artist wanted recognition and the whites will help the picture stand out.

Double page spread layout idea

first page will include 3 pull quotes and the main image of the artist. bold black fonts. the second page will have a main pull quote at the top and article boxs below with a main image in the background.

Contents page layout

2 columns will be at the left and right side. white black and red will be used. editor message at the bottom talking about the contents and the main story image in the centre with the page number on the bottom left of it.

Cover layout

Front cover will be basic but have a appealing cover image and subheadings that done give to much on the articles inside. a bold title will take up the top of the cover. Black white red and yellow

Text fonts.

The text group used is Sci-fi, to represent the magazine genre, a modern magazine with slick modern fonts with curvature and bold outlines.
